High Net Worth Divorce Center

A divorce can be the quiet legal termination of a marriage that actually ended long ago, or it can be a legal and emotional battleground, filled with bitterness, anger, resentment and distrust. No matter how a marriage ends, issues relating to the care and custody of children, support and the division of property must be resolved. When it matters, our client’s have called our divorce lawyers to get the job done.

At the Wutz Law Firm, PLC., our divorce and family law practice is developed to provide clients with the effective and efficient resolution of all issues involved in the dissolution of a marriage. We will fight for you on matters including:

Child custody
Child support
Alimony (spousal maintenance)
Visitation
Equitable distribution of property
Personal protection orders

Our firm brings specialized skills and expert witness opinions (when necessary) to the negotiation table to guarantee our client’s rights are protected. We are experienced in matters involving valuation of business property, tax implications of divorce, hidden assets, and the equitable division of securities, pensions, and stock options.

In complex divorce cases, it is particularly important to develop a plan to identify your separate and marital property and create a comprehensive case strategy to preserve your business interests and family property. We are experienced in protecting assets that one spouse fears may be raided by the other and often discover assets that one spouse is hiding from the other.

We are equipped to handle divorce cases involving substantial private assets, high-value separate and community property, partnerships, family corporations and other complex closely held business interests.

We will act quickly to establish the real value of your property and to make a reliable assessment of what is community property vs. separate property. During your divorce, we work with your CPA or financial planner to develop a plan to minimize your financial risk and work with independent tax accountants and estate planning professionals. When necessary, we can subpoena and take the deposition of your spouse, experts and other involved witnesses.

We believe it is essential for our divorce clients to be involved in every aspect of the divorce process, so we take a team approach to resolving custody, parenting time, child support, alimony, and property division matters. As part of our legal team, you will be involved in all aspects of the process and will set the objectives of the case.

Some marriages end amicably through a collaborative divorce process, often referred to as conciliation, and some require a strong and successful negotiator, often referred to as facilitation, to achieve the desired result. Ending other marriages requires family court litigation and we are prepared to take your case to trial if necessary. In some instances, it may be beneficial to consider options outside of the family court trial process, such as arbitration. We are prepared to take on cases that are tried in the public domain and can likewise handle cases with complete discretion to protect your privacy.

Our attorneys are excellent negotiators who are able to firmly represent our clients' interests while working to build consensus and keep the process moving forward toward resolution. For a divorce to resolve through collaboration or negotiation requires the opposing party to be somewhat reasonable. No matter how much we would like all parties to value reason and fairness, sometimes they do not and the issues must be decided in court.
